Frequently Asked Questions

What is Double Dribble Catering?
Double Dribble is Christchurch's multi-brand catering platform — 10+ kitchens (Blue Moon Bakehouse, Eightgrains, Boom Boom Chicken, sushi, Carnival Matcha, Muy Muy and more) in one order. Office catering, morning and afternoon teas, platters, kids parties, birthdays, weddings and events, delivered across Christchurch.

How do I place an order?
Order online at doubledribble.co.nz/catering — browse by occasion, add to your cart, choose a delivery date and check out. Prefer a hand? Hit Get a Quote and we'll build a menu around your headcount and budget.

What's the minimum order?
$200 for delivery across Christchurch. Below that, you're welcome to pick up from us — pickup is free. All prices are GST-inclusive, in NZD.

How much is delivery?
Delivery is a flat fee based on distance from our city-centre kitchens (255 St Asaph Street): $25 within 5km, $35 for 5–10km, and $45 for 10–20km — you'll see your exact fee at checkout before you pay. Orders arrive between 11am and 6pm, and early morning tea and coffee runs (8–10am) can be arranged.

How far in advance do I need to order?
We ask for 1 day's (24 hours') notice on catering — order today, enjoy tomorrow. Cakes need 48 hours' (2 days') notice. Larger functions: 1–2 weeks. Weddings: 4+ weeks.

Is the food made fresh?
Yes — everything is made fresh to order by our kitchens after you book, never pre-made and shelved. That's exactly why online orders need a day's notice. Craving something right now? Every Double Dribble venue also has its own online ordering with pickup in about 20 minutes — find yours on our Meet our Brands page.

Can you do last-minute or same-day catering?
Sometimes, yes. Online ordering closes a day ahead, but depending on kitchen capacity we can occasionally sort same-day — message us and we'll tell you straight away what's possible.

Where do you deliver?
Across Christchurch city and surrounding suburbs within 20km of the city centre — CBD, Addington, Riccarton, Papanui, Sydenham and more. Pop your address in at checkout to see your exact fee, or just ask.

Do you cater for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and halal?
Yes. Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and vegetarian options are clearly labelled on every item, with dedicated GF and DF collections. Across all our kitchens, our chicken, beef and vegetarian dishes are halal. Tell us about any allergies and we'll guide your order.

How does ordering from 10+ kitchens work?
It's the Double Dribble advantage — mix dumplings, sushi, fried chicken, pastries, salads and matcha lattes from different kitchens into one cart, and it all arrives as one delivery, with one delivery fee, on one invoice. No chasing five separate caterers.

How much food should I order per person?
As a guide: morning tea $7–12pp, afternoon tea $12–20pp, lunch packages from $26pp, individual meals from $12. Not sure? Get a quote with your headcount and we'll match your budget.

Can I pay by invoice or set up regular office catering?
Yes — choose Pay by invoice at checkout and your GST invoice is emailed automatically (2-day payment terms). Order regularly? Ask us about a business account — recurring weekly, fortnightly or monthly catering that runs on autopilot.

Do I get a GST receipt?
Yes — a GST receipt or invoice is emailed automatically with every order.

Can I change my order after placing it?
Yes — changes are welcome up to 48 hours before your delivery or pickup. Just reply to your confirmation email and we'll update everything, including your invoice.

Do you set up the catering on-site?
We can. Add our setup and styling service (from $150) for events, grazing tables and functions, and we'll arrange it beautifully on the day.

Do you cater weddings, birthdays and parties?
Absolutely — birthdays, kids parties, baby showers, gender reveals, weddings and corporate functions. Custom cakes from $65, plus grazing, platters, canapés and dessert tables from across our kitchens.

Can I pick up instead of delivery?
Yes — pickup is free and the way to go for orders under the $200 delivery minimum. Your order confirmation tells you exactly where to collect, based on what's in your order: most orders are ready at Eightgrains (Little High Eatery, 255 St Asaph Street). Bakery-only orders (cakes, focaccia, matcha drinks, cinnamon rolls) collect from Blue Moon Bakehouse (Little Foragers Market, 70 Riccarton Road); sandwich, wrap and dessert-slice orders from Dose Diner (295 Blenheim Road); and Muy Muy platter orders from Muy Muy (44 Welles Street). Pickup orders are made fresh to your booked time — for immediate pickup (about 20 minutes), order directly from the venue's own website instead.
